my engine electric's light comes on for a few seconds wen i slow down and have 2 stop. The revs will also drop. If i rev the engine a little the light goes off and everything seems 2 b back 2 normal. very occasionally it seems 2 put me in get u home and the engine will start 2 rev its self on tick over but this does seem 2 regester on the rev counter. I suspected it may hav been the idle control valve which is nackerd. wen puting in a new one do you hav 2 set the idle speed - if so how do u do this?
cheers,
rob

hi mate,
my MAF was knackered and it did a similar thing. i borrowed another from my mates corsa and it worked fine. vauxhall wanted £280 for a new one, I got one on ebay for £30. It took 2 minutes to fit
the ICV can be cleaned i think if it is not the MAF?

take it to your local garage and get it plugged into there disgnostics equipment, you can waste a lot of money randomly replacing sensors which don't need replacing

Do the paper clip in the diag port trick to get your own fault code without paying ridiculous money at a garage to use there diag equipent. Google how to get the fault code and what it means and you've saved yourself a whole lot more money.
