Ok been getting a few quotes online for my new car which I'm picking up next Sat. Just wondered if anyone knew if and/or how being a property owner affects the quotes as some of the companies have asked "are you a home owner- yes/no" so obviously for me the answer is yes and just wondered if it brings the quote up or down?

i've never noticed a difference. the only thing i've noticed is they send you loads of junk mail about home insurance.

Ahh cheers, just wondered why they asked and if it affected the quoute etc! Damn about the junkmail thing- hope they only send it if I decide to take a policy out with them though

yeah its just so they can send you info about their home insurance and try to get you to join it. Can sometimes push them for a good deal if you get both through the same company though.

Yeah I got a discount on my direct line home insurance cos I said I had their car insurance too

Might work both ways....................
