you can get fai gasket sets for about £22 for the 8v SRi, budget in a new waterpump, timing belt, belt tensioner/rollers, and headbolts - looking at around £130 all together for the lot.
worth doing the lot tbh as you dont want the engine going bang due to a snapped belt or bust tensioner after spending all that money on getting it fixes
labour sounds about right for the 8v, especially if they do the waterpump & other stuff while there at it.
Skim should cost in the region of £40 from a good garage
The headgasket when done will last a good 100k miles, easy, aslong as its not constanty having its nuts ragged off.
