i went to blackpool this weekend and all the way there my car wouldnt go over 60mph, which as u can imagine is REALLY ANNOYING!

I recently took off the travesty that was my drilled airbox and put a new 'non-drilled' one back on, if that gives any indication as to the problem.

Any ideas as to what the problem is?

What engine do you have mate.

Also does it go through the full rev range in all other gears?

its a corsa B 1.2 sxi, it revs thru 1st and second, but it feels like its limited to around 3.5 4k revs in the rest

Eeeeek baaad engine

Is the engine management light on?

Could be anything from Air flow meter to EGR valve

Sounds like it but limp home mode always brings on an EML

Then there is a fault that it really isnt happy about

You cant do a paper clip test on these either. You will need to get it on a vauxhall tech 2 to find out what the problem is.

In my opinion its one of three things.... all of which are expensive

Air flow Meter
EGR Valve
Crankshaft sensor


All three are prone to failure. However..... i have a crank sensor and an egr valve if you find out its either of them which you can have pretty cheap.

thats just my luck! i'll see if i can get a check at some point today and report back. ive had to change the air flow meter in the past so hopefully it wont be that

Wouldnt start if its the crack sensor surely?

Sounds like a serious MAF problem to me,
