Cut a hole in, insert sensor, then seal with black silicone.
thats what ive done and works spot on.
also if you smooth the silicone nicely it doesnt look like a bodge

the sensor doesnt need to be in the pipe as air temp inside the pipe is going to be the same outside.
My kits come with the pipe

thats rubbish mate,of course it needs to be in the pipe.the temp in the engine bay is going to be warmer than the air being forced into the pipe from the outside of the bay.if it didnt need to be located in the pipe then why did vaux originally put it in the pipe and why would they locate it there in the first place??

I couldn't find any td hose that would fit mine.
So i used some silicone hose, and fitted the air temp sensor in the pipe, sealing it with tigerseal.

if you are having trouble finding the right pipe i think it would be best to do what vauxlad said and get some silicon hose and put the hole in yourself.

from the fact there's a butterfly valve on that (moved by the black 1/4 circle pulley ) I'd be doubtful that's even from a diesel.
There were 2 diesel engines but think only the Isuzu's were used in the Cav, new one was 97 onwards
