Have fitted a new inlet manifold to my 1.4 sport, one o the replicas off here.. its idling too high, around 2000 or so. EGR valve has been left in, would this be the cause?

Dont think this is the problem as checked all the hoses this morning and they seem fine. What about if the EGR valva was put in upside down?

Theres no way you could get the EGR upside down, you dont take it off for a new inlet anyway???
Have you used a blanking plate to blank it off now the throttle has been moved?

But still, my money would be on an air leak, either a pipe or the manifold gasket not sealing properly

The instructions off here told me to take it off. Its a new manifold gasket so doubt it could be that. Havent used a blanking plate either. The EML is staying on too.
Any help appreciated

The EGR is left in place and just blanked off where the throttle used to be, will put the EM light on if its not plugged in. Thats how it works with dbilas manifolds and otheres so I would have thought yours is the same.

Yes.
Would it be anything to do with the fact that the headgasket could be on its way out?
