wandering if someone could give me some advice. i failed the mot on emmisions i have everything standard but it failed on a fast idle test and also lamda test. it is chucking out too much carbon monoxide could does anyone know how to fix it lol. the cars too good to scrap i think its 16v it says ecotec on the rocker cover. ta

Yeah its a 16v. X14XE.
It may be a case you need a new lambda sensor.
Is the car used often? My MOT tester advised me to stick some fuel additive in and go for a long drive before the MOT.
Might be worth a try before replacing the Lambda....do you get free retests?

yeah i get free re test. the lambda is about 60 quid i'l try what you said. thanks a lot
