Couple of questions...

I have heard rumors that wrapping mild steel manifolds is not advisable.... any truth in that, does it really matter??

Generally what size is better to use, 1" or 2" ?

How much length do people guesstimate i may need for a 4-2-1 fannymold?

its not advisable on mild steel cause the heat wrap contains the heat and leads the manifold to crck, how much truth there is in that I dont know

Stainless isn't all that much stronger than an average grade of mild steel so I can't see much truth in that, unless it has less resistance to thermal fatigue or something?!

My understanding is the exhaust wrapping is not to be used on cast manifolds as the increase in heat can lead to cracking.

Mild steel and stainless steel perfectly ok to use exhaust wrap on however the wrap can hold moisture against the manifold leading to corrosion on the mild steel.
