Ive got a sport X16XE. Its my trackday car and at the moment still my everyday car. I did Silverstone in it and it was ok but needs more power.
At the moment it has:
mantzel inlet
full stainless magnex system and de-cat.
So i was wondering if anyone knows the average cost of all this would be:
panel filter with de-restriced airbox
264 cams and pulleys
janspeed manifold
remap - raised rev limit
apr rod bolts
My plan is to try and get near 150bhp and then put a diff on it, that with a decent suspension setup and it fully stripped would make it a pritty decent smallblock trackday car.

i got 128bhp with inlet, manifold, full exhaust and decat. if you get cams and a remap i think you will get close to 140

i wouldnt of thought the cams would make too much of a differance as there pretty mild.
Sure i read it somewhere that SBD reckon using the gsi cams with rev limit of 7.5k should be fine to support 150bhp!
maybe ported/polished head, pocket pistons(£60 maybe) and run some bigger cams...obv not too much bigger, unless change management

I did think i would struggle to get 150bhp with that spec. For the cost of doing all that not really sure its worth it for just 140ish bhp.
Might look at either building a redtop corsa, witch i didnt want to do, or buying a 16v pug/citroen. 150bhp is very easy to get from them and for not too much car.

Youd see 135-140 with that spec imo. Plenty to have fun with on track

stick some twin 40's on it, cheaper than TBs and nearly the same gains.

Been thinking about keeping it, 140bhp with a diff and good suspension should make it a decent track toy. Then maybe go TB's at the end of the year
