Car - Astra 1.4 16v, MY2001
Engine - Z14XE
Problems:
EML light constantly on. Shows error P0110 - air temperature circuit malfunction.
Some times shows P0301 as well - misfire on cylinder 3?
Car is hard to start from cold, seems OK once warm.
MPG is quite low.
EML started flashing one day - limp mode? - lost power etc.
Cleaned EGR and throttle body, seems a bit better at idle.
Also did a compression test:
220
220
195
225
Is that OK or we need to start worrying?
And any ideas or suggestions on what to check with the P0101 code?
Car has got MOT next week, worried about emissions!!

Air temp sensor? All results from compression test seem around the same ball park so I wouldn't think anything major about that. Presume it's a petrol?

Yeah 1.4 petrol.
Well was researching this last night and realised I could get live data with my code reader. When sensor plugged in - showed 151C degrees! When unplugged - -39c degrees!
Replaced sensor and cleared codes. Only drove 4 miles but no EML so far, Although previously we had cleared codes and none were appearing for 10 or so miles.

Just take it for a good run I would say, I mean I have seen more than one occasion when errors will come up, you clear them and never return, nothing to sweat about, sensors have moments of madness haha!

WE had cleared codes many many times before and they would always come back up. Some times just a mile down the road, some times 10 miles. Hopefully new temp sensor sorted it though. Will hear back from my mate after 2pm when he is back from work.
