Ive got an Acer Aspire one Netbook which is about 2yrs old, however hasnt worked in a while.
On boot up I get options to restart normally, safe mode, command prompt etc, it starts to boot normally then the blue screen of death appears (flashes up for 1sec = cant read fault codes etc) and it shuts back down and just loops like this forever.
Can anyone help?

Use the recovery disk that came with it; requires another PC and a 2GB+ USB flash drive. Failing that, grab a copy of Windows and either use a USB CD drive or dump the CD image to a USB flash drive (needs to be 4GB+).

Doesn't come with a recovery disc (I have the same netbook!).
F8 or something like that should bring you into the system recovery screen, from there you could try the Windows repair options.

Ive tried the windows recovery thing and nothing happens it just freezes

Has it still got the serial number sticker on it?
If so just get hold of teh OS disk and flatten it and start again.
Unless there are important files on there

Wouldnt have thought it would be anything to do with the BIOS. Just windows been gay as usual

I assumed they did. Which case go with the other two options (will need a Windows disc to match your license, nab or borrow it) of either using an external CD/DVD drive or copy the Windows iso to a USB flash drive (using http://emea.microsoftstore.com/UK/en-GB/Service-Centre/Windows-7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool).

I just remembered - I actually made some recovery discs before I wiped the drive in the netbook (there was a program in Windows to make the discs).
If Colin has the same netbook (Acer Aspire One D250) then I could probably send him a copy of the CDs in the post to try.
