On the hunt for a new(ish) phone, either secondhand or new, budget £250 tops and i'm not looking at iPhone's (believe i could only get a 4 for that anyway).
Currently on my list is -
New Huawei G300 - About the best for £100, shite camera, would need to ROM vanilla ICS.
Secondhand Galaxy S2 - About the best spec phone for the budget (i think)
New Galaxy Nexus (I9250) - Best for Android updates and screen resolution but seems lack on everything else compared to the S2, plus reviews suggest battery life is piss poor.
Any other phones i should consider?

the new rzr looks nice but doubt it is £250 yet - and has an insane battery life apparently

I know £50 over your budget, my S3 was only £300 on gumtree though, seem to be loads about for that.

Will have to have another gander at an S3 but £250 is about the max limit especially as it'll just get used for calls, texts and emails.

If you're just using the phone for that, do you need to spend £250?

Exactly, and are you really bothered about camera and screen res?
JM - Why you selling? What network?

Downgrade your upgrade
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

You can get a 4s for that, i'd certainly be getting one. Will be better than anything for that price, regardless of what fanboys say.
Other than that, i'd get the S2, or try find a bargain S3.

I've yet to see a 4S that doesn't look completely battered for less than £290, most of them seem to be in the £330-400 region and i'm not really that bothered about owning another one.
Pow - Not sure about that, the S2 is a better spec'd phone and runs ICS/JB. But yeah, a lot of reviews mention that the Nexus battery is a bit pap although there is an extended battery that apparently improves it some what.
BarnshaW - Will have a gander at that.
Ash/Mark - Probably right but just have something decent spec'd that'll last.

If you are only after something for calls/texts/email, then what about some sort of Blackberry?
Thats all I can do on my work one pretty much, does all of that fine. Decent battery life. Does the job.

I keep buying 4s's for around £220 - 230 mark and selling them for £270 - £280.
Had a few that weren't that battered tbh, one was pristine.

O2 but i'm after the phone only, not a contract (already sorted with GiffGaff).
Whittie - Where have you been buying them from for that price?!
Even locally on Gumtree, the 4S is a lot more than that.

"Facebook for sale and swap *Insert town name here*" Page, eBay, and forums. I've bought 4 all for under £250 in the last 10 days.
