its a corsa B Gsi C16XE

drove it all yesterday and it was fine.
drove it again in the evening and i noticed the revs were like rough and stuck to rev up!!

and then wen car was at stand still i put my foot down hard to rev the engine BUT it would drop a bit below 1 and then gradually rise but only just, was like as if i had run out of petrol if ya get wat i mean???

then about 20min later it was ok!!!!

also wen i start up on cold morning i notice a squeking noise for 2-3mins, i think its comming from the cambelt area???

wat u guys reckon???

throttle cable

squeakin noise is probably fan belt

or could be cam belt rollers

wat u mean "throttle cable"

how can i fix or check it???

if it is the throttle cable then it may be sticking hence the "rough and stuck to rev up!!"

have u tried reving the engine from under the bonnet when u are experiencing this problem see if u can hear, feel or see anything?

yeah i will check n try reving under the bonnet

But....would the throttle cable cause the rev to drop under 1000rev to about 500rev before it starts to rev up??? coz thats wat my car was doing!!!

as for the squeking noise i think its just because of the cold weather because its fine when the engine has warmed up

i have no idea it was just a suggestion really

but the squeakin is most likely ure fan belt although like dave says do u know when ure cambelt and tensioners were changed?

mates clio 16v did that, turns out it was the ICV.

Sounds like a blocked Idle valve
