I'm thinking about fitting my suspension kit at the weekend if i get the time and was wondering if i'd need a torque wrench, or would i be able to get away with tightening the bolts 'tight' or'bloody tight' ??

another concern is that it might be too low to drive around sensibly on standard 13's and lowering it 60mm... anyone got any experience of this or any pics of their car lowered 60mm on steelies ??

getting the top nut off may give you some trouble, i used an electric impact wrench.

the top nut often spins with the front suspension shaft

Ring spanner and ratchet did it for me.

i've just checked an i'll need a socket an a deep ring spanner.... think i might just go an buy a torque wrench, cso it'll come in useful for the brakes an that... Would i be advised to use loads of WD40 on the top nut ??

get an 18mm offset ring spanner for the top nut. wd40 wont really help as its a nylock nut so it will be secured with a plastic seal rather than rusted on.

Also i realise the camber on the rear cannot be adjusted easily, but can the front ??

Regards the top nut, try to get it moving before you jack the car up, sometimes the weight of the car helps hold it as you undo it a bit. Worked for me in the past.

**Update**

Done the rear and the nearside front, but it got too dark to do the drivers side...

Thought it was pretty easy considering i've never fitted suspension before...

Quick question though, the top nut on the front only seems to have about 2 threads showing at the top of the nut....is that ok ??? seems like the OE stuff only has around the same amount of theads showing, but just wondering if the GMax stuff was likely to differ ??

its all well and good saying that, but i cannot be arsed spending a fortune on an aging supermini, when i could be saving that extra bit and put it towards a better car...

The main aim in doing this was to make it look better...i realise the kit is cheap, but i didn't buy a corsa for a good handling car, so its not something thats at the top of my agenda...
