well its done!

and three words.. oh my god! it makes one hell of a difference!

but its not running quite right

lumpy on idle but holding strady at 900rpm, and it feels hesitant at low revs + EML is on.

any ideas? sensor?

have you plugged the egr valve back in? as that will bring the eml on, i doubt it will be the coolant temp sensor as you said because thats on the thermostat so you wouldn't of even taken that off

My EML has gone off now so don't thnk it would throw anything up

I've been told an air leak after the thrttle body could cause this? Is that true?

yeah thats right.Get the air filfer off and start the engine then put your hand over the throttle body. The engine should stall if it doesnt then its got a vacuum/air leak.

I fitted one to my x14xe. The EML comes on every time I hit the redline, then stays on until I restart the engine. I asked on here and someone else told me theirs was the same, get used to it. It rarely comes on if I drive sensibly, but EVERY time I redline it does.

Well I've taken it all off and resealed it all I'd forgotten the TB gasket aswell so there shouldn't be any airleaks now

I'm going to let the sealant go off over night and try again tomorrow.

And ricky252 when you EML comes on does it affect the car in anyway or is it just the light?

right, ive resealed the powerbox to the lower inlet and resealed the throttle body to the powerbox, so there is no airleak.

the symptoms havnt changed

if i drive the car below 3000 rpm the idle is lumpy but its fine otherwise

when i go above the 3000rpm for the first time the EML comes on and stays on. The idle goes crazy fluttering between 500-1000rpm and the car kangaroos in every gear.

whats up with it

ive just read through it and ive followed it exactly, only thing i noticed, is the silver plate with the copper pipe coming off is not blank for the EGR. i never touched anything to do with this:

could that affect it?

did you remove the egr valve?
if not then your ok but running the wiring for the tps and ICV would be a git as the egr valve splices a wire off the TPS to help it.
now the guide above is a bit of a got with this. i sugest you have a looksy as what your discribing is the EGR isnt plugged in or theres a broken wire for it.

i havnt removed the egr valve no and it is still plugged.basically where i have circled i havnt toucjed that area so what ever is there as standard is still,

and i split the loom so IAC and TPS are plugged into throttle body and the EGR plug is plugged in too

*****also its used 10 litres of fuel in about 15miles so i think its heavily overfueling. could you tell me where the FPR is?or ciclde it on one of warrens pics?

fpr is just above that red circle
have you put a blanking plate over that hole in the side of the lower inlet?
