All those with 1.8 Corsa C Sri's, what are your gearboxes like ?
I bought a 51 Reg 1.8 SRi a couple of weeks ago, but the gearbox is very clunky and often it's quite a struggle getting it into 1st and 2nd gear's.
Is this a common problem with the gearbox, or do I need to take it to Vauxhall ?
Any comment's/help would be appreciated.

Its a common problem with all corsa c's not just the sri.
Cannot remember what part it is, think its the linkage thats normally the problem, but not totally sure.

I've had no problem with my gearbox. Just flows easily from gear to gear.
Define what you mean by struggle? If it doesn't go into gear on a regular basis I'd take it to vauxhall. If it's still under warranty you've got nothing to lose.

By struggle I mean that it's quite hard to get it into gear. It's like there's something acting against the gear change. The main problem is with second.
It just doesnt seem to want to go in sometimes (quite regularly tho), so you have to pull it quite hard, and eventually it will pop in.
It can be quite embarressing when your trying to do a quick gear change.
Plus almost every gear change feels and sounds clunky.
Yeah it's still under warrenty until Oct, but I know what main dearlers are like and wanted to be sure that this wasn't a common problem, so they can't tell me it is normal.

if it still has warrenty take it to the dealer and get them to change the linkage for free. I had this problem in my last corsa c and it even got so bad i was having to use the lift up reverse bit to get it into 1st and 2nd but was fine after it was changed
