was trying to keep up with a new honda accord, and had to really thrash my car, were racing for about 5miles
when i had finished and stopped with engine idling it was REALLY noisy, really tapping and rattling. so limped home slowly, noise stopped by time i got home, checked the oil and couldn't see any on the dipstick, so chucked a litre in

Mine's done this.
Changing my oil on the weekend hopefully stop it

mine drinks oil like beer when i go past 6000rpm an further.. all x16xe's i know got that oildrinking thing going on while racing..
even after a complete head rebuild it stil does this.. on regular use it doesnt use any oil 
but that's not what i bought is four.. the revlimiter is my closest pal 
who needs a shiftlight anyway huh?

no wind up, it has happened before, think my sump leaks
never hit the limiter in my car

well go back and check your oil level and see if you have enough or too much in.
