recently had a reconditioned engine fitted (x14xe) since i got it the car has been heating up very quick upto 100 then the fan kicks in
it is sitting at about 95 when im driving but as soon as i stop at traffic lights it goes up quickly
any ideas?

My metro had the same problem. It was perfectly fine until I was in traffic. It turned out the water pump had gone, and the radiator was buggered.

I'd query it with the people that fitted your engine (unless you did it yourself) they should have picked up on this. If it wasn't like that before, then, they've potentially done something wrong!
