last time i rebuilt it it was quiet when it ran, but this time its really tappy, and sounds like theres a scrapping noise in there somewhere?

sorry i was just taking the piss. was all the oil pick up cleaned out well etc mate, did u use a new pump?

take it it's not just that the lifters have to fill up with oil or is it solid lifters?

yeh it was all cleaned out from both sides. and its got a new oil pump on it. ive taken the oil cap off and the oil is looking a bit metallically.

did you replace the lifters?
did you regrind the crank and fit bearings to match?
were pistons, bores and rings checked for damage?
oilways in the cylinder head inspected and cleaned?
valve springs and seats etc checked?

took the sump off and i think ive found the scrapping noise. removed the sump to inspect the bottom end, accidently dropped my light and it shone on the bottom pulley. there was a mark around the inner face of the pulley where it had been rubbing on something. removed the cambelt cover and its been rubbing on that. will clean out the sump and refit it againt tomorrow nite and try it again. if its quiet then i'll take it for a drive to shut the tappets up!!

Hmmm, Sounding like a derv.

If all else fails start at the tank and finish at the backbox.

Fuel, is there enough or too much? are the injectors spraying ok?
