x14 are generally sports but the easy way to tell if it's an x14 (I believe some sri's came with x14) is if it has got the big plastic ecotec cover on it as it's the 16v twin cam engine, whereas most sri's were 8v

The late sri's had exactly the same engine as the sport.

The late sri's had exactly the same engine as the sport.
basically if it's a 16v sri, then it will be a sport engine

c14xe had a plastic inlet manifolld without egr valve,
x14xe has metal inlet manifold with egr valve...
