was downloading lost last night, and noticed there are 720p versions avaliable. i just downloaded the normal 350Mb one as im going to watch it on the CRT TV downstairs. however if i do watched downloaded stuff on my LCD the picture is usually quite poor, blocky etc. i was just thinking, if i did download the HD version, which is over 1Gb would the quality be any better just burning to a normal DVD? i cant see that it would cause obviously it aint a HD disc, but then again 1Gb will fit on... so i dunno!?
dont tell me to just post on AVForums.com lol as i will be as well!

The standard ones you download shouldnt look blocky, so you are obviously downloading a shitty version as it is...so would only get the same problem if the HD one was shite too.

they should only look shitty if your watching SD ones on a HD tv
or when you burn them you get a shitty conversion

well i just download the one that has the most seeds. usually around 350Mb per programme or 800Mb for a movie...
but yes i suppose it is SD on an HD TV. i use HMDI

It's nothing to do with seeds, in the case of tv torrents it's file size.
The bigger they are the higher quality they will be.
There are usual hardly any seeds on the 1 gig ones compared to the 350 meg.

Just because something is HD does not mean its any good. There is no point making a HD resolution show/film if you are going to use really high compression which means you end up with a picture no better than SD
If your after HD TV shows then expect to look for around 1GB file (for x264 stuff) or 4GB stuff for mpeg2 stuff.
To give you an idea a film ripped from BluRay/HD-DVD are normally around 15-20GB
