How do i drain the engine off its oil? I'm thinking there will be some sort of bolt to release the oil?

In the sump underneath the car there is a little bolt thing.
Needs an alan key to undo it, then drain it off into a bowl

I cant for the life of me remember whether i did or not I presume it would make sense to jack it up while you empty it, but drop it back down when topping it back up.

check if yours has a paper filter,
be very carefull undoing the black cap
the old filter will need a good tug to remove it.
and for capacites ask at halfords. they have a system that can tell you how much you will need.

but in all fairness, just fill it up bit by bit till its just below the max mark on the dipstick

My sisters X12XE has a black canister with the oil filter in it, next to the head on the right hand side - I'd imagine that's a paper element too?

I'm not sure though, I haven't had to change it for her yet!
