Ever since i rebuilt the engine i get this slight tapping/knocking sound.

With my windows up and doors closed i can hear it. Goes away after about 2.5k rpm though. Gets faster when i rev it up

Open the bonnet - and can't hear anything like that!

It isn't loud at all, i was thinking sticky valve or noisy lifter?

lifters i would of thought if its tapping but knocking is a bottem end bearings normaly
