Hey guys, recently bought a ford connect van 2002 for work, been driving it for a week and noticed mainly today when i accelerate hard my battery light comes on? I know its probably of no real concern but just wondered if it was a van thing or whether its something silly i can try change? Thanks

There is a well known fault with the wiring on the alternator, could be that.

Ok Dave! Battery still charges up as should and starts first time!

Bit of reading for you, doesn't seem a big deal but fairly common and might be worth nipping it in the bud before it lets you down.

I have a Connect myself so I knew of the alternator issue, although mine hasn't suffered it so far. Does have a lovely bit of gearbox thrash though which is another Connect "feature"

Brilliant! Also how easy is it to clock these? Looked at mot sheet and has previous mileage of last 5 tests, it goes 2009 - 185,023 2010 - 105,333 2011 - 112,000 2012 - 114,000 ?
