I presume there is no gas to the building for central heating or are the storage heater historic because it is an old refurb?

It's a rarity to have gas in a flat, they almost always have electric heating from my experience.

Finished sanding in the living room:



Destroyed the kitchen so I could finish the sanding properly:



Got some varnish down:



This turned up:



Hired a builder to help me do this while I destroyed one of the bedrooms:



No more pics at the moment, but my dad and I have had to do lots of repairs to the wiring. There were wires run through the plasterboard and skimmed over with filler and newspaper, random contraptions wired into the back of plug sockets like this:



And lots of extra plugs and things all over the place. Suffice to say, I have lots of holes to patch now!
