I dont know whether this is only normal but why is my headunit boling hot like even the cd inside when i take it out is boling but all plays and still going like is it something to with ventaliton or is this normal get back on this 1 cheers

Get some computer case fans, and mount them in the general area around your HU to circulate air around it/over the heatsink
|

nope, i'm serious - some people cut holes each side of the HU in the dash and put them there, tho a well placed couple round the back will get the air flowin nicely. Use some with LED's in to give a nice backlit effect too

mine has always been hot, the cds get hot etc.. its an alpine, doesnt bother me.

You changed anything on it recently? Sounds like its getting the wrong impedience i.e like its running 2ohm but h.units should only run in 4 ohm.

Well TBH im not sure if he's saying that its getting overly hot or not? My £600 Apline gets toasty but thats norm... Then again my mate wired up 8 speakers to his 4 outputs of his h.unit (2 ohms) and that got toasty for a BAD reason...

yep checked all wiring all in correct place sounds like its normal too me and as me mate says all the heaters on in winter would make it hot so there u go, lucky i know now its not a electrical fault case closed

my mates pioneer gets really hot and my rockford 1 can get hot, i wouldnt worry about it
