i have a 1.2 8v at the mo 45Bhp i think is there any differnt heads i could put on there to get just a little more power? eg: 1.4 8v/16v. the engine in mine is also SPI if that helps not carb its a 1997

i dont even think the MPI has the same shape oil and waterways... plus the pain of it all.... no bang for buck!
change the engine.... its really simple!

the head will physically mate to the block probablem is the compression would be nuts

convert your 1.2 8v spi to a 1.4 8v mpi sri engine can be done

i changed my 1.2 spi for a 1.4 spi i aint sure but i think there is a 1.6 spi [astra]

Go for a 1.6 8v GSI/GTE engine from a nova - 100bhp for not ery much, can keep your existing exhaust, mounts and shafts... Someones done it on here, can't remember the name tho...

I know a lad who did that to his 8v SRI it quick but my 16v SRI keeps up with.
I'd get an 1.4 16v ecotec.
