Probably from the timing chain.
There was a kit to simply replace the chain however these aren't available anymore apparently, so the only option is a full replace including rollers etc. It isn't cheap

Yeah, that's the full kit. The problem of cost isn't to do with the parts, it's the labour. Kind of front end of car off, side of engine off joby

ahh not sure about the oil theres a possibility cos weve not long got the car for my little sis. it had a full system on it so it wasnt that noticable due to the roar of the exhaust lol, but ive taken that off today and replaced it with a standard system and it stands out more now (to me, sister couldnt careless! ha)
just dont know much about 1 litres so is kinda new to me

It's a piece of piss in a 1litre.
Support engine by jack, cam cover off, lock crank & cams.
Timing cover off, release tension, belt & guides off.
Replace refit, enjoy.

Obviously not
They aren't supposed to be changed at 80k. The rough interval is 100k. But some don't need changing at all.

My without a doubt needs changing. Is it worth it though considering i want to sell the car in the nnext few months and im looking for no less than £700?
Also if i supplied the parts what roughly would i be looking at?

The only way to find out is if you asked a garage. Don't go to Vauxhall though.
It isn't worth it because you're getting rid, but, if the person buying knows what they're talking about, they are going to pay hardly anything. But if you do repair, then you may as well keep it yourself. . .
