ive just fitted a 106 gti engine into my mates series 1 xsi 106.
engine is all wired and plumbed in however there is no spark and plugs dont seem to be getting wet when turning it over.
all plugs seem to be connected and fuel lines are on.
what could it be? any ideas??
oh the engine is turning over fine and the CAR has no immobiliser at present

Ecu locked?
crank sensor?
what loom have you used?
who converted it?
3plug or single plug ecu?

we got the engine from a guy oop north who had it fitted into a series 1 rallye apparently.
the mount had been modified, he said the ecu was unlocked.
were using the crank sensor from his xsi, would this cause it to not start?
i fitted the engine and loom mate, its meant to be a modified loom

use the gti crank sensor
loom does need to be modified but if its already been in a rallye then it should work. in theory
