When you do an engine conversion in any car, when you change the V5 over do you have to have the car checked out to make sure it's safe or just send off for an amended V5?

i didnt when i had mine done, depends on what the conversion is, i did a 1400 to 1600 ecotec and had no problems nd dint need checking

what i did was i went into vauxhall and asked them to confirm on headed paper that the engine (new one) was the right cc to the reg and chassis number of the donor car. job done.
