my mams boyfriends car packed in earlier driving down the road oil light came stopped and checked oil level ok kept on driving it then the car just cut out and wont start now not even turning over checked oil and still ok any ideas. its a 2.5 v6 aswell

Could it be the oil pressure? Maybe oil pump or something, im not a mechanic but just a idea

Oil light will be oil pressure as said, uh oh this doesn't sound good!
Engine prob fubar inside now, i'd guess at oil pump gone or pickup pipe is blocked.
Maybe pop a rocker cover off and see if the head is dry, it may have starved the head of oil.

if it wont turn over id say it woz siezed lack of oil pressure  not good

probs gonna be seized how far was it drove with oil light on and make sure battery charged as trying to start a 2.5 v6 for more than normal could of drained battery

www.omegaowners.co.uk will help. What v6 was it? If it was low on oil, "check oil level" or "oil lack" would have come up on the screen.

it come up as check oil level wont even turn over or nothing an checked oil seems to be alrite

Check oil level comes up occasionally if your going up a hill or at idle for extended time. Mine does it sometimes, the oil level is fine. Check the breathers not blocked. Also, i know the oil cooler on the V6 can cause problems. Im not sure the exact problem or soloution....mines straight 4.
