(copied form another thread)
When I sat notched, I mean, it didnt feel right. all up gears where engaging, but not gear stik not going in complelty right place as in not far enough. but was in gear.
It just wasn't smooth:S
We then bent linkage slightly deliberatly to stop it failing bulkhead ( as told to do) and went in reverse(could do with being bent bit more ) but could get in reverse.
Basically all the up gears engaged but the gearstick didnt move up as far as usual, but all down gears moved down the normal amount.
Very confused, as before linkage was played with have 5 gears smotthly but no reverse, seems to of gone backwards, was sure a whole day would see it sorted tbh
Ideas? car moved on it own power today at long last
thanks all!

No, I'm now using the stanadard one for now, the gear linkage was extended. All this was fine before. I tried fitting short shift, gave up went back to normal linkage to get car working quickly, all I chnaged was to nylon bushes.
The linkage was proper tight to fit into the mount is this normal, VERY TIGHT
