I've seen a cable type F18 in a 2.0 mark3 Astra as well as a Cavalier.

I would say they have been changed at some point then.
Im 100% sure that the C20XE only came with F20 from factory. Infact i would probably put money on it.
F18 probably wasn't even around when the last of the line C20XE's were out.

Infact, the last of the line coilpack XE's might actually have had the F18c fitted.
Something keeps popping into my head about the Mk3 Gsi having the F18 box fitted for fuel consumption reasons.

Your a million miles away davie. someone local on ebay has offered me a f20 but for £250. I politely told him to fuck off
local scrappy has a couple of cavs with f18s in so will prob give one of them a punt. few people online have said the ratios are better than f20?

Depends if its an F18c or F18w.
F18c, iirc, has near enough the same ratio's as an F20, but with a slightly longer 5th gear.
F18w has long ratio's, might actually be off some sort of derv.

Yh but f18w will be better suited as you have power already so dont need a close ratio
