Looking to get one for my dad for his brithday as we broke his fitting one of my windows!!

Looking to spend around £100 give or take a bit; have seen these but i have no idea when it comes to power tools!!

Hitachi DV18DCL2 18V 1.5Ah Li-Ion Cordless Combi Drill £99 @ Screwfix

DeWalt DCD785C1-SFG8 18V XR 1.5Ah Li-Ion Cordless Combi Drill £129 @ Screwfix

Black & Decker 18v Hammer Drill & 2 batteries £67 @ B&Q

Or any other ideas?

New Dewalt will have the old makitas pants down. The makita technology in that drill is over 4 years old. Dewalt is new stuff!

Cant tell if trolling.

mine and my dads makitas have served us well. Cant see any reason why you wouldnt use one unpess if you needed to constantly drill shit non stop for a year.

I loved my makita until i didnt use it for about a year. now the batteries are both fucked.
id still buy a makita but make sure it has lithium batteries. makitas are black n white now too, look cool as feck

The hitachi is excellent. You can often get it at b&q for same price, if you know somebody works there they get 20% off

In my 13 years in the maintenance game I've seen my fair share of cordless drills. We currently have 4 DeWalt although 2/4 have had to have their chuck replaced. That aside I really can't fault them.
Back in the day we had a makita that was solid as a rock. We would have gone makita again if it wasn't for the deal we got on the DeWalts.
Hitachi are meant to be very good. One of our contractors rates his very highly. He says it shits all over DeWalt. I can't comment on that.
Another that is worth a look is bosch proffessional. Make sure it's the proffessional and not standard Bosch as they are crap. Just like black and decker.
I can only talk about the brands really as the models are different.

^^ same as the white one, i've got two for work. Nice and light with good batteries.I've changed the chuck for an all metal cjhuck. To replace the drill is £60 for a bare unit

I'll be buying that when my combi dies as my SDS is on new 18v batteries so its easier if everything is on the same

I think i'll probably go for the makita one and keep an eye on ebay for a second hand battery or two as backup.

Or get the dewalt one with the £50 battery.

I got him the Hitachi in the end after reading a few reviews; was £99 with two lion batteries and does seem a nice bit of kit
