hi this is my first post so here goes!
i have a corsa sri 16v and when i come to pull up at junctions or traffic lights, my car cuts out! my engine managment light is also on! r they linked and how do i fix it?

vehicle speed sensor is boogered  someone will post up how to do the paperclip test though....

Could be idle control valve... can cause management light to come on when slowing down and when its really bad can cause it to stall. Could also be the lambda sensor, ICV more possible in my opinion tho

when mine was doing something similar to this it was the crank shaft sensor

basicly replace all the sensors in 1 hit and your done

My cav did that when i rebuilt it, it cut out unless u revved it.
Turned out a breather had dropped off the inlet manifold, put it back on and it ran fine!

could be lots of things, first check out topbuzz.co.uk do the paperclip test. this should point you in the right direction.
likely to be the idle control valve, but could be any number of sensors, vaccum hoses split or blocked/ pulled off, is your speedo working ok? if not the vehoicle speed sensor wont register the speed of the vehicle and confuse the ecu into thinking youve stopped.
