Been having some proberlms with my turbo of late,
Basically oil seals went on my old one, so purchased a 2nd hand one off a friend who was using it on his cally t but striping it for parts. Was a std KKK one with a recon less than 25k ago IIRC,
Anyhoo since fitting it i have had probelms with boost! First of all the actuator i got with the turbo was an uprated one used for phase 2 on his car which was not doing my std ecu any favours and i ended up getting plenty of EMLs wioth fault code 116
So took uprated actuator off and replaced with the old one off my old turbo which was fine when on the old unit.
And suddenly i have a massive boost leak
Decided that actuator must be too loose so tigtened it up, the preffered measurement is 13mm after the bolt IIRC, it was lower. Did it up took it for a spin, slow as hell still.
Found it to be 12mm so tightened it to 13 possible over did it to 14mm.
Now im RIGHT back where i started from and got an EML code of 116. (boost pressure above upper limit) Plus seemed to be back to normal but not around 4th gear (f20) Plus turbo was SO loud in 5th at around 90 and i dodnt remember it being that loud!
Im now worried as to what my car is doing
Could any of this be down to the amal valve? As i replaced a plug on it before i did the turbo conversion, may i have put it on the wrong way round?
Sorry for the essay guys
Any help appreciated

There is no right and wrong measurement for the actuator, whatever allows it to boost properly.
Do you have a boost gauge?
Try fine tuning the actuator adjustment, check vacuum pipes and check out max boost for the amal valve vacuum pipe orientation.

get boost agueg so you can set the boost correctly.
or just get a P2 ecu

You'll still need a boost gauge and correct amal valve wiring/plumbing with p2.

Got an F20 so no Phase 2 going here!
On the hunt for some money to buy a boost guage
