EVRYTIME i turn my computer on i get a pop up saying "windows has detected new hardwear" then says either:
insert CD
let windows search for the programme needed
cancel.
so i tried every option now, and it will not go away. how can i stop it coming up?
before you ask, i havent had any new hardwear installed  im on XP btw..

there must be some new hardware
START, right hand click on 'my computer', properties, hardware, device manager, see if there is any yellow '?'

ooo thanks.. there was an icon with a yellow filled circle with a black exclamation mark in it. ive just done right click properties uninstal.
it said it was an imaging hardwear thing, and i dont have any.. so hopefully this has sorted it

can you tell exactly what it is?
is there anything like a scanner etc...connected? or a digital camera?

no that's not it...this is alrite...it's just disabled..
that's your ethernet card for internet, network etc...

where's the icon with the yellow sign?
when starting your pc,the pop-up doesn't it say which hardware has been detected?

well i deleted the yellow one now, that hasnt come back.
Na it just says its found hard wear, doesnt say what it is...

it will come back when you restart your pc...so better restart, try to check at start up what is it
or go to my computer, device manager etc...and see what this yellow sign is
and is there something like a camera phone, a digicam, a scanner connetced to your pc?
