hi there, im new to this forum and also this sort of car (jap fan) buts its quickly turning me lol. i own a 2001 xc sri corsa and im looking into fitting a turbo to the motor in its stock form. im not looking for a massive power increase out of this but just a little more poke than whats already there. what i need to find out is what can i do in regards to the standard computer, are there workshops that can re flsah or chip the standard computer and if so would they anyone of them be willing to have mine sent to them and once done sent back to aus or am i better off with a plug/wire in computer?
i also need to know where i can get an exhaust manifold to suit seeing that they arent too popular its custom or nothing sorta thing and im hoping that you guys have more of an option overthere. the rest i can make/put together myself but if there is anymore info that you want to add id love to hear it.
oh and i almost forgot can anyone tell me the mechanical limits to these engines and driveline? its something that ive been trying to read up on but ive found very little about these engines/driveline.
thank you and i hope you can help
regards camron

ok can i get an internet link for that place? ive got a couple of turbos here that i can use, one is a gt2871r rated to 400hp but im going to put that on my gtir and the other is off another motor that i have here its a ct26 turbo off a toyota 3tgte. i thinking of using that one and getting a manifold for the car just to save me making one myself but if there is a complete kit im interested. cheers

diy it mate manifold off ebay get a flange to make it fit personally id lower compression with a spacer plate. The z18 pistons are rather light weight so i cant see them taking much boost the rest is just all your pipe work get it mapped and hope for the best. I wouldnt expect much more than 150-160 bhp with that kind of set up you need different management and low comp pistons to do it properly which will take you into thousands

great i was aiming for 150-180 hp so that sounds good to me. im not planning to run much boost because of the standard innards though i may pull it down for a build at some point. i was thinking about buying a thicker mls head gasket as part of the build, what thickness do you guys recon would be right on the money?
thanks for the help everyone
