gonna be quite hard because of the weight difference. 106 gti's only need a few simple mods i.e 4 branch, air filter, exhaust etc and they can reach around the 140 mph. u will prob have to get an uprated inlet manifold, 4 branch, cams and a remap to see close to that speed

in my opinion, in the time and money it takes you to make your corsa near that speed, you will be pushing the engine to its limits all the time, your better off getting a nice 2 litre and cruising past that gti

its not hard, mty old c16xe used to drill 106 gtis and valver corsa up to 100+.

but i rebuilt it, 80mm pistons, ported head, inlet, stock airbox, skimmed to up the cr a touch and biggest help...lightened flywheel as mine used to pul from nothing whereas if you keep the pot type flywheel its flat to about 4k where the pug would of been half way down the road, decent tyres/suspension too is a big help.

fillmecca the x18xel or which ever is the smallblock motor is actually a very good motor, more cc than the 1600...obv, very nice ports already, and even lighter valve train so rev nice too....so in reality its a better engine than the 20xe unless the 20xe is a screamer

yes i am on about the x18xel there nothing to a XE if your going to drop a biger engine in go all the way and get a good rebuilt XE in!

the x18xel is a pointless engine conversion to me and there shit i have driven one there not revvy at all pissing slow tbh lol , for the the time ect its well worth geting a XE

Xe is heavy, and not many people have a good xe and my idea is a fully rebuilt motor, I went out in a mates xe corsa and thought it was piss slow, so when I built my 20xe up its an all steel, tb'd jobby(race motor). But im re-building my c16xe for my other gsi at the moment that will of cost the same as doing a 20xe conversion by time bought all parts and rebuilt the engne etc and my 1600 should be running 170+ bhp easy, so easily drill a 20xe corsa + handle alot better.

Just to prove point that dont always have to go 20xe.

I know lee303's nova with the 1800 in is an absolute animal + handles wel, so there not a shit engine.
